New Stuff Alert: The Allen County Courthouse Wreath

I work at the Allen County Courthouse and regularly have the chance to photograph its architectural beauty. It’s pretty every day, but even more so during the holidays, when it’s adorned by a beautiful lighted wreath, hung in front of the windows along the east side.

I’ve always wondered what a photo of the wreath would look like if I could get up to it vs. shooting it from the ground. My entry into the world of drone photography gave me just such a chance!

Recently, during an evening social event at the Courthouse, I got the chance to shoot while the wreath was on, while the inside lights were on and while the building was lighted by spotlights from the ground.

Here’s the result:

It’s at least a good start. Remarkably, you can see all the way into the central core of the building. Through the center of the wreath, through the windows, you can see the railing beneath the rotunda.

I’ll keep working on it and get back to you…
